Preparation is required for many of the things that we do.  For the things that we hope to become good at, lots of preparation and practice are usually required.  Many times we must push ourselves to step outside of our comfort zone to grow, much like a baby does when it is learning to crawl, or the faith they must exhibit in the outstretched arms of their parent when deciding whether or not to take their first few steps.  One cannot ever learn to run without the proper preparation, practice, uncomfortable growth, and faith.  It is no different for our spiritual growth and our relationship with the Lord.
